Offering White Sur is believed to satisfy not only the ‘four types of special guests,’ but also to enhance one’s environment and all beings within it, even those one may not perceive. This leads to an improvement in surrounding conditions, creating a more harmonious and peaceful atmosphere.
How is White Sur incense offered? As a Tibetan Buddhist ritual, the practitioner must always begin with taking refuge and arousing bodhicitta. To be effective, one’s offering should be accompanied by short-yet-powerful mantras found within an applicable Avalokitesvara sadhana.
