The practice of mantra recitation has been used for untold millennium to help focus the mind, cultivate calmness, and to gain wisdom and purification.
Strung on triple-strand cord with 108 beads. The mala is crafted of beautiful natural banded ‘agate wood’, since the grain resembles the patterns seen in agate. It is also called ‘tiger grain’ wood. Wooden malas, which feel comfortably warm in the hand during mantra recitation, are most commonly used among the monks and nuns as they are relatively light and hard-wearing for many hours spent in meditation. Here, 3 ‘spacer beads’ of a different material are inserted as a gentle reminder to refocus when our mind wanders during meditative recitation.
The mala is adorned with a carnelian guru bead, while the tassel is ornamented with a silver- plated medallion with double-dorje motif, plus a set of small carnelian counter beads. The mala’s bead size is 8mm.
To inspire and motivate progress in your mantra recitation, consider adding a mala marker clip.
When not using your mala, it should always be kept in a safe, easy-to-find place and treated with respect. Our mala bags will ensure protection from the elements and will extend the life of your mala.
